What is new in SAFe® for Architects (ARCH) 6.0 Course?

 

General Course Improvements

This course has been updated to align with changes associated with SAFe 6.0 and to incorporate feedback from the community to make the course more effective. Below are general improvements to the course:

 

  1. A new certification badge appears throughout the course slides and other course materials.
  2. The SAFe for Architects certification exam has been aligned with the course updates.
  3. In alignment with SAFe 6.0, a new version of the SAFe Big Picture has been incorporated throughout the course materials. All instances of the SAFe Big Picture align with SAFe 6.0.
  4. SAFe 6.0 has introduced some language changes to commonly used terms in SAFe and Scrum.
  5. Primarily in this course, the terms ‘Daily Stand-up,’ ‘Scrum of Scrums (SoS),’ and ‘Program’ have been updated to ‘Team Sync,’ ‘Coach Sync,’ and ‘ART,’ respectively.
  6. SAFe 6.0 has expanded the Scrum Master role title to ‘Scrum Master/Team Coach.’
  7. SAFe 6.0 has introduced new icons for roles throughout the ART.
  8. All lesson topic slides have enhanced trainer guidance to highlight the learning objective associated with the content.
  9. At the end of some lessons, a slide has been added to identify any references to third-party material.
  10. Citations for quotes or books used to develop the lesson content are also included in the references slide.
  11. Video thumbnails have been updated to incorporate the new color palette visible in the SAFe 6.0 Big Picture.© Scaled Agile, Inc.
  12. All quotes and references to third-party material have been refined to include more details on where to reference the source material. This includes reformatting quotes, updating attributions, and adding details to cite books and papers that introduce non-SAFe concepts.

    Architecting for Continuous Value Flow with SAFe

    In SAFe®, architects play a key role in the trio of leaders, including product managers and the Release Train Engineer. These people work together to deliver and guide Agile Release Trains (ARTs) to enable continuous value flow.

    In the SAFe® for Architects course 6.0, you’ll get the context to align architecture with business value. You’ll understand how system, solution, and enterprise architects collaboratively deliver architectural solutions. And you’ll get the guidance and tools you need to work effectively in remote environments with distributed teams.

    During this three-day course, attendees will explore the roles, responsibilities, and mindset of Agile Architects, and appreciate how to align architecture with business value and drive continuous flow to a large system of systems while supporting SAFe program execution.

    This course is for senior technical contributors who need to understand the role of System, Solution, and Enterprise Architects in Lean-Agile enterprises. The course is also appropriate for individuals desiring a deeper view into how architecture enables continuous value flow and how architects engage in, and contribute to, a Lean-Agile enterprise.
